Do you ever meet people and things just "click"? That's how I feel about a lot of my new TMOMS friends. It's so nice, and encouraging- inspiring even- to be a part of this group of amazing parents (Moms plus Steve). But there are a couple who just are especially awesome.

It's nice to not be the only "freak show" with 5 kids. It's nice to talk to another woman struggling balancing a career and being a Mom. It's nice to find someone else who is a great Mom but can't seem to stay on top of the super clean and organized thing. And of course, there's a kindred spirit-an ornery one, but kindred all the same.

I had a great time Tuesday evening at the meeting. I'm going to make an effort to get to more of these meetings and outings and maybe create some new friendships along the way. Sounds like fun, no?

Tonight was a laid back evening - no practices, games or errands. And Randy thought we should order pizza. Who am I to argue?

I'm going to work on taking a few pictures each day. So that falls in with the "click" thing. And I'm really going to try to make sure to get all the kids, not just the babies. Although, not everyone wanted to cooperate:





Poor Josh was the last to get our stomach bug, and he's still not feeling 100%. Here are some better pictures - even though I hate pictures of me.

I need to work on a fancier layout, but this one will have to do for now. At least I'm blogging, right?

All the talk about blogging today, and now I can't think of a thing to say. Not one. That's pretty rare for me.

Okay- well here's something. The other night we were all out at dinner. (Which is sadly almost the only time we all sit down and eat together.) And for some reason I started telling the big boys stories about when they were little. And they were cracking up. I think we forget that even though they were technically there, they don't usually remember it.

Like when Josh was about 4 and asked me "Mom, are we driving like a idiot?" "No, Josh." "Oh, just all those other people are?"

This evening was a little rough. The babies were off their schedule today (all my mom friends can chime in here) so they didn't get an afternoon nap. This is why that's a bad thing:

A cappella

I love, love, love a cappella music! (When it's done well, of course.) I just got my Straight No Chaser "With a Twist" cd today! It's amazing!

And I know there are a lot of exclamation points up there. But I get excited. That's just how I roll.

Busy Busy Busy

So in an effort to do better about blogging more often, I have dragged the laptop to the football field. There just aren’t enough hours in the day.

So we just replaced the a/c unit at our house. Naturally it was way too hot to stay there while it was out, so we went to a hotel. I told everyone to think of it as a mini-vacation. As much as the whole endeavor cost, that will be the only vacation we’ll be doing for quite some time!

Our days are super busy these days- Jackson and Jacob are both playing soccer and Josh is back in football. Jacob has also started mascotting (is that even a word?) again. He loves all the attention he gets, especially from the cheerleaders!

So this weekend will be a long one. I’m ready for it! Josh is going to his Dad’s and Jacob is going with his Pappy. Practically an empty nest. We have a pool party Sunday with one of my new TMOMS friends. I’m really looking forward to it. Except for the pool part. Some of us should never be in bathing suits. The twins, however, look adorable in their suits and love the water. I’ll have to post pics.

Long Time, No See

Wow! It's been a loooooooooong time! And boy, has my life changed. We had TWINS. Shut. Up. Twins?!


I knew after we had Jackson, that there was no way I would stop there. I just knew I needed one more. Yes, one. I have this weird thing where I wanted an even number of children. (Shush... I already said it was weird.)

Anyway, we decided not to "try" but more "stop trying NOT to" have another baby. I went off the depo shot. And sure enough...by the time I went to Kansas for the birth of Miss Maddy, I was certain I was pregnant. And figured I was 12-14 weeks along, just judging by how tired I was, and how sick. Oh wow, was I sick. I was losing weight. That's a new one for me.


Funny, while I was in Kansas we found out that my nephew, Travis, and his wife, Becky, were expecting twins. I got a good laugh out of that one. I mean-they already had 3 kids, what were they going to do with 2 more?


Again-Karma's a bitch.

**Tangent Alert**

Miss Maddy was born June 22nd and I have never been so happy as I was for Chris & Angela. Seriously, I can't think of anyone who will be better parents. They have Seth, but Chris needed a little girl!

Anyway, so after getting a little chuckle at Becky & Trav having FIVE kids... on July 8th, I found out that guess what? I was having twins. And I was only about 8 weeks along.

I thought they would NEVER get here...but I delivered them at 36 weeks 3 days on January 25th.

Okay, so I'm pretty much out of time. Sorry this was so jumbled! But I have lots more to blog about. It's been a super-busy year!

RandomNess

Okay, so I'm cruising through McDonald's this morning. I'm hopelessly addicted to their hazelnut iced coffee. I mean, it's not Starbucks, but it's cheaper-and on the way to work.

Anyhow, this ...guy...working in the drive thru looked at me like I was nuts because I had to grab my coffee with both hands. Those are biiiiiig cups. You might as well order the extra large-it's only a few cents more and I need all the caffeine I can get. But my hands are really small. And it takes some doing to reach out the window with 2 hands to grab the thing. I'm gonna be pissed if I drop it though, so he can just look at me like I'm stupid if he wants. Whatever.

Oh. And I got halfway to work and looked down and realized that "the girls" were trying to escape. Seriously- I was wearing a lovely purple bra, but not everyone needed to know that. Sigh. I turned around and went home to grab a cami.
