Oops!

Wow, time flies. It's been a while since I blogged, huh? You'd think I would be blogging all the time, since football is over and I have so much more time on my hands.

By the way, we lost the championship game. 6-0. But the boys played their hearts out. I couldn't be prouder of them. And Jacob "mascotted his butt off" as he puts it.

Here are my boys after the game:

Now we're getting ready for Thanksgiving. I have to give Aimee a big "ditto" on the skipping Thanksgiving thing. (tysonaimee.blogspot.com) I mean seriously, can we not pause to say "Thanks" just for a moment?

Things I'm thankful for?

My sons are healthy and happy and ornery.
Randy.
My family-some more than others. ;)
I have a job.
I have a home.
Football.

What are you thankful for?

Halloween Party - Part 2

So after 3 days of cleaning, cooking, decorating, the big day was last Sunday. And let me tell you, I know how to throw a party. Everyone had a blast! And everyone was duly impressed with the goodies.

Eyeball & Mummy Cupcakes:

Witch's Cauldron Cupcakes:

Graveyard Cupcakes:

And (my personal favorite) Caramel/Chocolate Covered Apples:

We had about 23 kids at the house, and up to 11 or 12 parents at a time. Look, my house just isn't that big. And these aren't just any kids. They're football players. Rowdy, rambunctious, competitive football players. Oy!

And other than the mud on the carpet (still don't know when I'll be able to get the carpets shampooed), and one broken decoration (a borrowed one, at that) we came through it relatively unscathed.

And jumped right back into football. I'll post about post season later.

Since When Do Boys Dance?

I mean really. 3rd grade boys. 20 of them. Cha-cha slide. Weird.

More on this, and the rest of the Halloween party soon, I promise.
Here is the spread we had. Nice, huh? I'll post more pics soon, too.

Grammar Guru

Okay, so I post one little, innocuous post. And then I look at it. And read it out loud. Seriously. Is it "most sincere" or "sincerest"?

The good news? I have a friend who's just as OCD about grammar as I am. So I call her extension and ask, "Which is it, 'most sincere' or 'sincerest'?" And you know what I love about her? She didn't laugh, or go wtf??? We spent 15 minutes on the phone doing research.

And then, of course, we had the discussion about how irregular verbs become regular after years of incorrect usage. (Something I heard on NPR.)

Oh. And our findings? Either is probably acceptable. We couldn't find conclusive proof either way. Besides-I dare you to argue with me about it.

Copycat Blogger

Okay, so if McAimee can do it, so can I, right? I'm a total copycat. But in this case, imitation IS the most sincere form of flattery.

I haven't decided what to blog about yet, but just you wait-I'm sure it will be brilliant. No really. That's just how I roll. It will be amazing.
