Yeah, I'm late. Get over it. :)
Nothing too special this week...just your average cutie patootie.
She was mid-hissy fit because I was getting ready to leave, but she stopped long enough to smile for the camera. lol

Two Things Tuesday
My friend Rachel over at The Boni Bunch always does “Two Things Tuesday” and since I’m running out of original ideas, I thought I would give it a shot.
1. I love it that Randy took the three big boys with him to the fire station tonight. It gave me an excuse not to cook, since they had to hurry and picked up supper on the way.
2. I loved our mini-playdate with Rachel & her bunch and Tami (and Graham) and their girls. Abby especially liked their pretty chairs.

Care Packages
So Jacob's Nana (Mary) likes to send us goodies. Our Easter box came today! I was every bit as excited as the kids. There is almost always a little bit of home cookin' in there.
She and Devon are so sweet- they always include all of the kids, even though Jacob is the only one I would expect them to buy for. It certainly makes MY life easier that they buy for everyone!
And we ate at the dinner table again tonight. Our kitchen is really too small, but we occasionally make the effort to squeeze everyone in. It's nice to sit and have a conversation without a tv, computer, or video game interrupting. I think we'll try this more often.
And- how could I forget?- the twins turn 15 months old today! They are growing up so fast!

Easter Sunday
We had a great - and very laid back - Easter. There was just too much rain to have it any other way.
I did make what I consider our traditional Easter meal- scalloped potatoes & ham. I forgot my leftovers for lunch today, but I'll be sure to take them tomorrow!
One quick story (this will be a repeat for my Facebook friends)- Jackson and I were lying in bed Easter morning, talking about the reason we celebrate Easter. He chimed in with, "it's okay- he came back alive again." I said, "Yes, but he didn't know that when they hung him on the cross." "Oh, he was very daring then!" Ummm...yep, a real Evel Knievel. Jeesh. Nothing like missing the whole point. Boys will be boys.
Hope you and your family had a wonderful, blessed Easter, too!
Fortunately, the Bunny has a practical side, so our baskets are actually storage cubes. |
Awww...love the baby... |
Awww....love the baby...CHOMP! (She does a lot of kiss-kiss-BITE right now. Ugh.) |

Saturday's Post - Egg Hunt
Saturday we went to the first ever Rolling Hills Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary Egg Hunt. (Whew, that's a mouthful...or a handful I guess, in this case.)
It went pretty well, I thought. Abby didn't get any eggs, but two other little girls were kind enough (with some encouragement) to share theirs. Jacob won a gift certificate to a local hamburger place that I haven't tried yet. I'll let you know how that goes.

Jacob picked up trash while he was out there gathering eggs. lol |
Friday's Post- Land Run Day
Pretend it's Friday- work with me here.
I had the day off for Good Friday, but the kids still had school.
It was Oklahoma Land Run day for Jackson. They emulate the way they chose plots of land when they settled Oklahoma. It's cute and they always have fun. Don't get me started on the people who snuck out the night before the original Land Run to claim plots of land- it should be Oklahoma "Cheaters" not "Sooners"... just sayin'.
And there was a pushing match between two little girls to see who got to stand in line by Jackson. He ended up in the middle- looking a little wide-eyed. lol

Could he be any cuter?? |
This is what happens when you give the camera to a 6 year old. |
Jackson's friend, Taylor. Apparently Taylor talks about Jackson "all the time." Her Mom's words, not mine. |

Legos!
Turns out, Abby knows how her Legos work. She's growing too fast. It was fun for me to see that she knows which way is "up" before she even tries to put them together.
Abby has a binky in this picture. It's ONLY because she's sick and it soothes her. We are now down to only using binkies at nap or bedtime for the most part. Should be ready to lose them altogether before their 2nd birthdays- I hope!
We're still feeling puny, so I'm headed to bed.

MOMS Gone Wild
The Oklahoma Mothers of Multiples Convention was amazing! We had a blast! We laughed so much that my sides hurt and my cheeks ached.
The women in the group are awesome, of course. I so enjoyed getting to meet new people and getting to know others better. Some perhaps a little too well!
We went to the Sycamore Springs Ranch in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. It was beautiful, and peaceful. Well, except for the Moms. haha
I had a great time, and the kids came through relatively unscathed thanks to Aunt Jacki and Aunt Carrie, and Daddy of course.
Speaking of... Randy pretty much couldn't care less about my trip. Don't get me wrong, he was glad that I had a good time, but didn't want to know the particulars.
Jacob, on the other hand, was asking questions like "Did you enjoy your trip? What was your favorite thing that you did? Did you meet any new people that you liked?" When I told him there was karaoke, but "I don't sing in public," he said "that's what the wine was for." HA!

Embrace the Camera
So if you haven't heard of - or started doing - Embrace the Camera, today is a GREAT day to head on over to Emily's blog and check it out. Her post today is one of my favorites!
Today we had a quick embrace, since Aunts Jacki and Carrie arrived and there was a lot of catching up and playing to do!
And I just have to share this. This is from Jackson's Alphabet Book (he's 6 years old and in kindergarten- bless his poor teacher's heart). He started out fairly typical - A for alligator, B for blood, C is for car...but then:
E is for El Chico... |
N is for noogie... |
P is for pick...ing your nose?! |
Anyway...you all need to take a minute and embrace your kiddos and embrace the camera. Even if you don't want to post it. Some day your kids will thank you, I promise.

What She Wore Wednesday
So today the babies had a doctor's appointment. I know, I suck. Their 1 year check up is two months late. But we had a blizzard on the day it was originally scheduled. And then...well, yeah. I suck.
Anyhow...Avery weighs 22.5 lbs and Abby a whopping 18 lbs. Dr. K said not to worry, she's just on the lower end of the scale but she's perfectly healthy. By the way, I called it on that one! I just told Jacki yesterday I was guessing 22 and 18 lbs, respectively. Booyah!
And, since they were getting out, I laid out Abby's new spring dress. Here she is showing off her supermodel pose, according to Josh & Jake:

Cuteness
I was reading a Noah's Ark book to Abby and she started roaring like a lion. Well...probably more like a lion cub. You know how you see those nature shows with the itty bitty cubs? It was kind of like that.
We spent quite a while playing in their room, as you can see by the mess.
And then I scooped Abby up and put her in her bed. When I turned around, Avery was standing there with his cup. I asked if he was ready for night-night and he said "night-night!" Awww!!
We're getting ready for Aunt Jacki and Aunt Carrie to come stay the weekend so I can go to the Oklahoma Mothers of Multiples convention. I don't know if it's harder to get ready to take 5 kids with you, or to leave them behind.

Miss me?
I spent the weekend enjoying the kids. Nothing major, just not much time to blog.
Tonight we had to run to Sam's for milk. Last week we only used about 7 gallons of milk, but when it is 90 cents per gallon cheaper, it's worth the trip.
The babies had on super cute outfits when I left this morning. I didn't really expect the white shirts to last all day, but I wish I got a decent picture of them before work.
So this is Abby's second outfit of the day. It felt very Jackie O. with the black capris. I wish I had a little headscarf for her.

What She Wore Wednesday
Forgive the messiness- this was after ice cream with Papaw.
Carter's sunsuit - she had a turquoise flower in her hair that was super cute. But that was before I left for work. By the time I got home, it had disappeared. Can't find it anywhere.
And as you probably surmised by now, my Dad came down for a visit. He showed up this afternoon, and will probably head home tomorrow afternoon. It's good to see him, even for a short time. He seems to be doing great- just takes more naps than he used to.
What did your princess wear today?

Moms for a Cause
Tonight was the monthly TMOM meeting. I love these girls, I really do!
We elected new board members and committee chairs tonight, and yeah, I ended up with some jobs. Not 100% sure what all I signed up for. I'm sure someone will clue me in.
And a bunch of us showed up with no shoes. Why, you ask? Celebrating TOMS Shoes One Day Without Shoes Campaign. My friend Dana brought it to our attention. She's kind of a hippie, but we love her anyway. And this is a great cause! I know I take for granted how easy it is to just grab one of many, many pair of shoes when I leave the house. Please check out the website if you have a minute. Mmmmkay? Thanks.
Here we are in our barefoot glory:

It was awesome...except for one of the moms who really REALLY hates feet! Bless her heart, she looked like she wanted to hurl the whole time!

Good Day
So it was a decent day. The boss man treated a few of us to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. We've had a couple of hard/busy/crazy weeks, so he thought we deserved it. I can't argue with that kind of thinking.
I found another tote of clothes in the 18 months size for the babies. I had stashed it in the top of the closet. I thought I was doing so good getting rid of the stuff that was too small. But now it's overflowing again- only with stuff that fits. Yipes!
How was your Monday?

Super Sunday
My friend does a cute thing called "Grateful Heart Friday" on her blog. (Check out her blog at: The Boni Bunch) It's not Friday, but I realized in the WalMart bakery section today that I do, indeed, have a grateful heart.
Why, you ask? Because for one, I was shopping by myself. Which is just so...so...easy. I love my munchkins, and I like to have company; but WalMart on a Sunday is not for the faint of heart and certainly not with five little ducklings trailing behind. We're quite a spectacle, even when everyone is on their best behavior.
Secondly, because I am blessed to be able to go to WalMart and get everything we need and a lot of things we want. That is something I tend to take for granted. I know not everyone is so fortunate. And so, my heart was filled with gratitude.
And uh...it turns out we can be a spectacle even when I don't take the munchkins. I had a couple people comment on how full my basket was. hehe I just shrugged and said "5 kids." That kind of sums it up.
And in case you're wondering, it officially becomes a workout after you add the 4 gallons of milk to the cart. I'll be back on Wednesday for more.
(And just because this top is so cute it's ridiculous, here are some pictures. I picked it up last year on the clearance rack at Crazy 8. I love that place!)

Oh- and since the boys were so helpful putting away groceries when I got home, I got to spend my time making meals for the coming week. Browned the meat for spaghetti sauce (saves a ton of time), tacos, meatloaf, AND made a batch of brownies with Josh's help. The boys put together a movie theater and we watched a movie, ate popcorn and brownies. So much to be grateful for!

Quickie
Abby swiped a cereal bar this morning. But she brought one for Avery, too. How can you get mad at her?
I am transitioning the babies to one nap a day over this weekend. It was starting to happen anyway. Just one more sign they are growing up on me.
